How many times does a person needs to prove

Its really a tough job watching a guy struggle so much only because he is from the wrong part of India. Yes I am speaking of Sourav Ganguly, the prince of Kolkata. Today he is in the brink of ending his career as the most successful Indian captain as well as the finest left hander India has ever produced. But still the story doesn't ends here.

The guy was given a chance to play in 1992 but failed miserably as he was thrown to the international stage without much of mental preparation. He was the most promising cricketer in the domestic circuit at that time. He was lost in the mass until Sambaran Banerjee, the national selector almost single handedly brought him back. Rest was history.
Sourav Chandidas Ganguly was a character which the world cricket will surely miss. The passion which he generated was simply great. Sourav popularly known as Dada in the dressing room taught his guys to look into the eyes of the opponent and fight till the last ball. He was the first and may be the last Indian Captain who haunted the Aussies throughout the tour in 2003-2004. He adopted some tactics which many gentlemen of cricket didn't support but neither could they prove that cricket is being played only by gentlemen these days. Ganguly was the response which the subcontinent had for some of the ruthless characters of World Cricket.
Dada became the second Indian Captain to lead India in World Cup final but here is the irony for the great man. The team which showed great team work and put up a splendid performance in all the league and knockout matches couldnot live up to the reputation on that very day. Dada had all the feathers in his cap other than the World Cup which he narrowly missed. He may not have played T20 much. Today he maynot be considered as one of the greatest performers of one day cricket as history is easy to forget but next generation has failed to live up to the spirit which the trio Dada, Sachin and Dravid generated among the younger generation. Only Ads, changing hairstyles and a few slogans of Youngistan cannot produce a youth icon.
Dada is the defination of determination and self belief though he had to spend most of his positive energy to combat the stupid Indian regional politics. When Dada had the power none of this enemies can say he favoured regional politics. He picked up the people based on talent. He picked up Harbhajan when he was nowhere considered in the selection pool. Dada backed Sehwag and Yuvraj while they were going through their bad patches. They delivered when dada required them to deliver.

I, being a cricket lover will miss Dada in the coming days. But yet to make one more confession. When the trio retires the younger generation will surely loose interest in the most hyped game of India.
