A state in limelight

Since I grew up I saw nothing as interesting as the current situation in West Bengal. I was observing the political situation through newspapers and electronic media. Its great to have such powerful leaders in the state with such a great foresight. Today I saw the news in rediff and since then I have read almost all the newspapers.

It was way back on 6th March 2007 when Mr. Ratan Tata declared that West Bengal is the best state in his eyes for future investment. Who knew he had such a thick cataract? He came to Kolkata with his team and held several meetings with our Honorable chief minister. But much to our dismay CM is also a political person who claimed some supporters to be his men and some to be other party's men. Added to the injury were some irrational leaders of our opposition who change colours more often than a chameleon.

West Bengal, the state of glory is now close to claiming the second highest literacy rate in the country where a large mass of literate people blindly support these chameleons. Its the dharnas and the bandhs which are the pride of this prospective state of India. The state was eager to play a pivotal role in the N deal, the much sort after topic of discussion over the last few months. But here comes the irony. A person from the state having highest number of literates led to the downfall. After all its India.

On 24th July 2008 Mr Ratan Tata declared to launch Nano within 3 months. He is the man who kept all his promises which included providing job to all the families whose land has been taken by Tata to construct the factory. He provided medical help to all the people in that area. He was visualizing a second Jamsedpur but the leaders of this state had some other foresight.

Our main opposition is now more famous than any other opposition in any other states. She is well known to all the corporates starting from the Infy chairman to the Satyam delegates to spent a night at the Dum Dum airport because of her warm reception.

Mr Tata indicated his move on 22nd August 2008 when he just made a statement which meant a lot. " Don't think we will not move out of Singur only because we invested 1500 crores". After 10 days we have come to know how much it meant. We were lucky because Tata choose this state for investment and pull West Bengal out of this dire state but we are not lucky enough to enjoy that. Its the sheer Bengali culture to have everything theoritical. Leading by example are the communists who dare not to step out of the principles set by Marx.
